WE ARE STARFISH
WHO WE ARE
At Starfish, we believe that to build a more inclusive cultural landscape, you have to champion visionaries who break from convention and pioneer new paths. We're a 501(c)(3) non-profit with the mission to empower visionary artist-entrepreneurs and innovative media-tech startups who are reshaping how we create, share, and experience culture
OUR APPROACH
We champion the rule-breakers — artists who dare to reimagine how stories are told and shared.
We invest in the future, backing early-stage startups that are rewriting the rules of media and technology.
We build bridges by connecting visionaries with funding, mentorship, and audiences hungry for fresh perspectives.
OUR STORY
Starfish is an artist-led initiative founded to identify the creative industry's blind spots and design new pathways for equity and innovation. Made possible by the generous support of our funders, we began with extensive research and conversations with mid-career artists and other key stakeholders.
The research led us to test a pilot accelerator program, with four creatives, whose journeys validated the approach but also provided crucial insights into the needs of creatives breaking new ground in today's dynamic media landscape.
Witness their journeys here.
WE LEARNED
The media landscape is shifting at lightspeed. Old models are crumbling, yet old habits are hard to shift, leaving gaps ripe for innovation. We've discovered that by backing the rebels and the dreamers — those who see these gaps as launchpads — we can unlock new markets and redefine what's possible in culture and technology.

“Our culture has a ‘narrative deficit disorder.’ We're here to fix that, one groundbreaking story at a time.”
